Our Pastor

Copper Hill United Methodist Church of East Granby, CT is pleased to announce that Pastor Jeff Cedarfield was assigned to our church effective July 1, 2025. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Vermont (’92) and Western New England University School of Law (’95). He was a trial attorney for 20 years while serving and preaching throughout the Connecticut District as a certified lay leader and speaker. Most recently, Pastor Jeff served as lay leader at North Canton Community UMC and provided vital service as a regular worship leader for both North Canton and Copper Hill churches while they were without dedicated clergy. His assignment by District Superintendent Alpher Sylvester comes in anticipation of becoming a Licensed Local Pastor within the New York Annual Conference next spring.

Jeff lives in Canton, CT with his wife Lisa and two of her three children. Jeff’s two sons are grown as is Lisa’s eldest daughter. Outside of family, work, and church his interests are hiking, camping, fishing, and barbeque in its many forms.

Pastor Jeff previously coached/umpired youth baseball for 13 years, was co-leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship at Plainville UMC, and developed and co-coordinated an 11-year Thanksgiving Food drive that collected over 150,000 pounds of donations worth over $300,000.00 for the Plainville Community Food Pantry.

All will find a warm welcome at Copper Hill Church; we are a friendly faith community serving the towns of East Granby, Granby, Suffield CT and Southwick, MA. Worship is at 900am every Sunday in person and on Facebook Live. The church is across the street from Copper Hill Golf Course and the GPS address is 27 Copper Hill Rd, East Granby.
